Happy New Year!

One of my 2007 resolutions is to redo this website, so you'll be seeing some big changes coming down the pike.

First things first, though - Arlington Priest's The Memory of Your Company continues to get some great press, both from print publications and online reviewers. Nic Fildes of the website Americana UK, gave the disc a 9 out of 10 and called it "a brilliant debut ... that is well worth tracking down" and said it was "bursting with variety and maturity and contains some absolute gems." (About a year ago, a review on that same website called Tim Williams' Tales of Digression "[a] debut album of gravity and depth which belies the youth of its creator").

Atlanta weekly Stomp and Stammer's Jeff Clark, who any local musician can tell you is one of the toughest critics in town, was won over: "The tunes are rich and varied, and Jill's robust pipes provide a colorful contrast to her mate's lonesome, workingman's voice." (These and more reviews are available on the Arlington Priest website.)

I also had the opportunity to work on a CD for the wonderful musicians of Congregation Bet Haverim, a reconstructionist synagogue here in Atlanta. The album, Shekhina's Crown, was released on December 15 to an enthusiastic reception from the congregation and the larger Atlanta community. Marcy Levinson of The Jewish Times exclaimed:
There's not a single song I push above the others; each one is different and enjoyable. ... Atlanta's own Robertson produced the disc and didn't overdo it. ... [T]he tender balance of vocals and instruments is maintained. ... If you want an introspective mix of music...this is the perfect choice.
It was a real honor to have worked on this CD with so, so many talented people.

A lot of great projects in the works for the next few months - stay tuned!
